World Goth Day party 2013 San Francisco USA

WGD is actually celebrated on the 22nd May every year but that has not stopped the good folks at Dancing Ghosts planning an evening celebrating gothic music, fashion, and community on the 31st May this year. And why not?

Goths have the unique merit of combining poet and geek without even trying...

Good value I would say at $3 before 10 pm,but  $7 after. The event runs 9:30 PM to 2:30 AM at The Cat Club 1190 Folsom @ 8th St. San Francisco.

Cemetery poet walk London England 24th June 2012

Something to bring out the goth in us all: the opportunity to meet at the cemetery gates before getting hit by a double decker bus (or not preferably)...

Highgate Cemetery 2pm - 4.30pm £20 (includes entry fee) -quite expensive when compared with what we usually feature here. Poet Ben Rogers walks with the departed in a workshop that responds to, and creates ideas prompted by the atmosphere and stories found within this graveyard. Contact Rochelle@mendham-writers.com to book.

If you can't afford this, try going to your own burial ground for free: I used to favour St Sepulchre's in the Jericho district of Oxford, England. Tucked behind Lucy's factory where the metalwork fires burnt out in the darkness.

'He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife.  Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife.' - our old friend Douglas Adams
