Crowdfund poetry
p&g contributor French poet and geek Jan Rousselot's Dawn of the Algorithm is both a poem p&g featured in Issue 7 and now:
a picture book of 32 poems inspired by science [fiction], video games, books & movies, life in Paris and, above all else, the looming robopocalypse.
Rather pleasingly you can help fund it.
Take a look at Jan's original poem here http://www.poetandgeek.com/issue7/07rousselot.html and make it happen here https://www.inkshares.com/projects/dawn-of-the-algorithm

Averil Andrews
The cloudless skies are blue
But where's the white and red?
Puffs of white smoke
Appear overhead.
And bathed in her bright blood
A child lies dead.

StAnza's map of Scotland in poems
The poetry map of Scotland - as seen by StAnza - is starting to take shape.
This is just a taster image above.
You can find and explore the interactive map here https://mapsengine.google.com/map/embed?mid=zlqrqfPpHmPI.ki3k4OoDqFXQ or go here http://stanzapoetry.wordpress.com/2014/07/13/the-map-revealed/ to find out how to add your own poem.

Call for poetry poetandgeek.com issue 9
Getting away from it all? Seeking something to do over the holidays?
poetandgeek.com is looking for poetry (4 poems or less), images and reviews (technical only) for Issue 9 - due out at the end of this year. Send an outline of ideas for longer articles to the Editor first. The deadline for copy is September 30th 2014. The usual contact details of course...and we are particularly looking for experimental approaches in work for this issue.
Take a look at the magazine here http://www.poetandgeek.com/ to see what p&g is.

Second hand bookshop
An intriguing visit to a small and unpromising store - towers of books - thankfully a good logic to their storage and an excellent (and inexpensive) result. Of which this is a small selection
The barely seen book is Travels with a donkey in the Cevennes by Robert Louis Stevenson.
I wish the Penguin Modern European Poets series still existed - translators apparently included W.H. Auden, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, David Wevill, Michael Hamburger, Christopher Middleton, J.B. Leishman and Ted Hughes.
