The barely seen book is Travels with a donkey in the Cevennes by Robert Louis Stevenson.
I wish the Penguin Modern European Poets series still existed - translators apparently included W.H. Auden, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, David Wevill, Michael Hamburger, Christopher Middleton, J.B. Leishman and Ted Hughes.
