Burns Window Project
With just six days to go until Burns Night, the Burns Window Project has got poems from Scotland, England and Ireland, but still plenty of windows to fill.
Poets should write their poem in a bold black pen onto an A4 sheet of paper, remembering that most of the poems will be read from several feet away.
You can also buy a pamphlet featuring poems from last year’s windows on sale during this year’s event.

Code Poetry Slam 1.1

Submit your code/poetry to the Stanford Code Poetry Slam, sponsored by the Department of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages Deadline is February 12th, finalists invited to present their work at a poetry slam (place and time TBA). Cash prizes and free pizza! Food, code and poetry...all good.
Stanford University's Division of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages (DLCL) loosely defines "code poetry": A C++ sonnet? A Haskell haiku? An algorithmic poetry generator? Something completely new?

Burn your thumb
Take a look at Burned Thumb in its Facebook entity. (The story of the burned thumb is a good one known to me from the stories of Fionn mac Cumhaill and concerns gaining an understanding of all the languages of the world and salmon - subjects close to p&g's heart.)
Elizabeth Rimmer its host describes herself as "poet, gardener and river-watcher". And her site and poetry are full of things pleasing to p&g readers. She is also one of the editors of Stravaig the online journal of the Scottish Centre for Geopoetics.
